Humphrey Easter

Well Spring is certainly in the air round here today….a perfect start to the weekend after a week of pouring rain and freezing cold temperatures. It never ceases to amaze me  how the weather can change so quickly here in the UK.

So, with the improving weather I start to turn my Crafty thoughts to  all things Spring, including flowers in bloom and Easter of course!

So here we have the  first signs of Spring from my crafty stash in the form of  Humphrey and a bunch of tulips and daffodils :-)

The lovely papers that you see happened to be a freebie from a magazine that came out over a year ago, and I think they are really lovely.

But this card was all about the image really and I had great fun colouring in this cute little image with my Alcohol pens.

So - time to enter a few of those Spring challenges I think, and here they are:

Down to the Farm with the Crafty Little Fairies

Time for a new challenge at Crafty Little Fairies and this time our theme is Down on the Farm.

Now I know that this little lovely isn't actually on a Farm but she is surrounded by sweet little chicks, so that's the 'Farm' theme covered - right?

I had real fun with this card - first of all the fantastic Prairie Fairy image, second the chance to use some lovely bright colours and lastly a bit of stamping decoupage - always soooo worth it if you have the time.

I do hope you will come and join us over at CLF this week and join in with the Farmyard fun. I look forward to seeing you over there!

Spring is the time for Bunnies

I can't believe what a lovely day we are having today. The sun is shining, there is not a cloud in the sky and it really feels like Spring is here. Of course…being in the UK…..it could all be gone tomorrow, so I am not going to spend too much time blogging and make the most of the sunshine instead  :-)

So my card for today is a gorgeous LOTV Bunny, coloured in shaes of Lavender for a change. This paper is actually printed from a Flower Fairies CD so it really goes to show that you can mix and match between ranges.

I have put faux stitching all around the edges on this card and I achieved it by pricking holes all around the borders (which did take a while!) and then using my fine liner to join all the holes. It really does give a realistic effect.
My lovely little bunny was coloured with alcohol markers - using the palest shades and lots of blender to get a lovely pastel effect.

So finally - on to some challenges that I would like to enter:

Crafty Little Fairies - Saturday Night at the Movies

Wow - I have to say that the Saturday Night at the Movies was a toughie for me…hopefully all of ou out there will have a bit more inspiration than I did - lol!

In the and I came up with a rather tenuous link to the movie "Beethoven'…because it is all about a dog. I also thought of "Cats and Dogs' but then I realised there were no cats on my card!

Luckily - you can also base a card on a song for this challenge so I cam up with 'You ain't nothing but a  Hound Dog', which is quite strange as i am not an Elvis fan, but for some reason that song was just drumming though my head!

Anyway - you get the idea - this week we want to see something that is linked to a film or song in one way or another.

I can't wait to see what you all come up with, so I do hope that you will join in the fun over at Crafty Little Fairies this week.

Finally, here are some of the other lovely challenges that I would like to enter….
