Is it too late for Summertime Beach Huts?
Summer is more or less over and the minds of crafters have already moved on to Christmas, but is it too late to be making cards featuring Beach Huts? I do hope not as these lovely Beach Huts arrived for me in the post from Stamp Addicts this week, and they will be making an appearance on their next Create and Craft Show scheduled for 8th October.
There are three huts in a row with some summery greetings, some bunting stamps and some buckets and spades so a great little selection to get creative with.
For this card I have taken a 'snapshot' using my nesties to cut out part of the stamp. I have gone for a bit of nautical look, using shades of blue and I have followed a sketch from Less is More this week.
a very simple card but I hope that you like it!
Here are some lovely challenges that I would like to enter today.

A Lacy Sunshine Mermaid
Well after a busy day at work, how nice it is to find the time, and the energy (!) to do a quick midweek blog post. I started this card at the weekend, but with one thing and another I didn't get to finish it. I wanted to enter the Lacy Sunshine challenge and it is often the case that I just don't get round to adding the final touches to an almost complete card in time for the challenge deadline.
But that was not to be the case today....one card duly finished and photographed in daylight too (that won't be happening for too much longer in the UK with the winter nights drawing in fast!)
The focal point of my card is this beautiful mermaid, which was a freebie from Lacy Sunshine. I knew immediately the colour scheme that I wanted to use and then it was just a case of finding the right papers, which I printed from my Polkadoodles Bon Bon Belles CD.
As for those shell beads...well I have had them for years and I have no idea where they came from but they seem to fit the bill, and finally I followed this week's sketch over at Papertake.
So finally, here are those challenges that I would like to enter today:

Anything Goes at Bearly Mine
Well my six month term as at Bearly Mine DT member will soon be coming to an end but I am happy to say that the lovely Donna has kindly asked me to stay on, so I am very happy to say that the BM fun is set to continue for me. :o)

My offering today teams together a beautiful Sugar Nellie Fairy Glen stamp with a gorgeous paper from the recently released Steampunk 2 paper set.
I have die cut the little flowers and leaves and added some pearls and glitter for some delicate bling (if there is such a thing!)

A Fairy Merry Christmas
Well it looks like Christmas has now begun for me, with my first Christmas Fairy Card of the year, using a fabulous digi from Polkadoodles not forgetting the lovely digi papers too.
As you can see, I have gone for some quite bright colours and I have used my Grpah Its pens for this particular image and they do come out much brighter than the Promarkers.....but I think there is a time and a place for each of them!!
I have to say though, that the Graph Its are taking a bit of getting used to and, as you can see from this image, some practice is still required!!
Happily though, a Christmas Fairy was as good an excuse as any to break out the glitter and now that my clear glitter tub and my quickie glue are back out, there is no stopping me and a bit of glitter has gone on every card i have made since!!
It's quite funny to be posting a Christmas Card today though as, after a spell of very cold weather, we have had a hot and sunny day today......maybe I should be making Christmas cards more often.
I am going to nip off now as I want to get a bit more colouring in before starting the tea, but first, here are some lovely challenges that I would like to enter....

Birthday with a Number at Crafty Little Fairies
It's time for another challenge over at Crafty Little Fairies and this week's theme is to make a birthday card with a number on.
I have used a right little mix up of stamps for this particular card........
The main image is a proper little cutie from Wild Rose Studios. The sentiment is from Polka Doodles (sorry it was a limited edition with Pen and Paper Circle magazine so no longer available but there are lots of similar stamps out there. Finally the number 'two' is from one of my Cute Companion sets.
The whole card was then put together following this week's sketch at Friday sketchers.
So that's my DT card for this week and here are some other lovely challenges that I would also like to enter:

A magical dragon from Tiddlyinks
Hello all. Today I have a card that I made using a gorgeous dragon digi from Tiddlyinks. It was one of those images that I didn't know when I would use it but I just had to have it. I guess the good thing about digis is, because they are so cheap, you can allow yourself these little treats form time to time!
well as you can see I coloured him in and gave him some sparkly wings too before matching him to some lovely papers which happened to come from my Toread CD.
It's a very clean and simple card but sometimes you just want to focus on the cuteness of the image don't you?
Of course I couldn't let dragon make his debut without entering him in to a few challenges, so here they are for you:

Polkadoodles boy and skateboard
Well it's been a while since I posted a 'boy' card so I thought it was time to break that habit, before I launch in to Autumn and Christmas!
As many of you may know, my 'go to' source for most things to do with boys is my Polka Doodles Pretty Tough CD and this card is no exception as everything you see has come from that very CD,
The boy is a digi image which I coloured with my Promarkers - I think he is great as he reminds me very much of that teen / pre teen stage where boys are concerned! Everything else is printed from the CD, including the skateboard embellishment which I love!!
Hope you like my little offering for today. :-)

Bearly Mine - Fall Colours
It's time for a new challenge over at Bearly Mine and this time it's a very appropriate 'Fall Colours'. Things have certainly got a lot cooler round here these last few days which has put me right in the mood for some rustic oranges and olive greens.
So here is what I made using backing peprs entirely from Bearly Mine. The Orange and green paper that you can see are both from the Plain and Simple range, whilst the lovely dragonfly paper is from Spring Fling.
The Pink Gem image was a little bit experimental as I was trying out my graph it pens (don't think I have got to grips with them yet!) and also a dotty background technique which came from a really good tutorial on the Graph It website.
I hope that you will come and join us at Bearly Mine but, in the meantime, I have a few other challenges which I would like to enter:

Man's best friend......
Here's a card I made as a bit of an indulgence...it isn't for anyone in particular......I just made it because I love the image and have been meaning to colour it in for ages! The dog looks a bit like my parents dog - Brion (yes he really is THAT big!!)......so Brion might just be gettig a birthday card some time!
This is a very CAS card because the image is quite large, but U have packed in a few embelishments in the form of the last of some lovely Polka dot brown ribbon (sob!!) and some lovely candy dots. The lovely creamy yellow paper is from one of my Polka doodles CDs, which I think goes lovely with the brown.
And here's a close up. I've been trying to get to grips with that lovely muted background that some of the talented artists out there manage to achieve. I am hoping that I have got it reasonably well this time, but will keep practicing!
There are lots of lovely challenges this week so here goes.....

Losing the Plot and Crafty Fairies Challenge...
What am I like??
I prepared this post a little while ago, ready for the latest Crafty Little Fairies Challenge.....
and completely forgot to put any wording in it!
So here I am to put that right!
This card was made using one of my very old Popcorn images which, as you can see has both a front and a back view.
Now those of you who know of Popcorn will know that he is traditionally brown, but I decided to go with a grey bear this time, to complement the lovely red papers which happened to come as a freebie in one of my magazines.
My card was made as a double fold, to make the most of those images and I also incorporated a bit of lacy punching too, to soften up those edges.
And the lovely bears have of course been coloured in with my Promarkers.
I hope you will come and join us at Crafty Little Fairies - you can find a link in my side bar. This is the revamped version of Lili's Little Fairies with the added bonus that you can now use any brand of stamp. We would love to see what you come up with for our cute and cuddly critters challenge this week.
Finally - it wouldn't be a proper post if I didn't enter a few other challenges as well so here they are:

Ringing in the changes at Lili's Little Fairies
Times change, and we Fairies are changing with them. We have recently had our last ever challenge as Lili's Little Fairies. No, please, don't be too sad, read on.
We have had a blast as LLF but it is time for a new start and from this week (5 September), we are becoming Crafty Little Fairies, with a great new look.
Something else new and, we think, very exciting - we are opening the challenge up to use images other than LOTV. So, you can still use your Lili's and we would love to see them, but you can also use other images too. How cool is that?! I am sure the Fairies will continue to share their love of Lili with you all but this does mean more of you will be able to join in the challenges with us.
So, we hope you are as excited about all this as we are - see you tomorrow for the first ever Crafty Little Fairies Challenge!
Sharon xx
