Flower Power

Hi everyone. Today I thought I would bring you a very simple card using the lovely….and very large Poinsettia stamp from Stamp  Addicts. As you can see it takes up a lot of space on a 4 x 4 inch card so it really is a good focal point.

Now I am no horticulturalist, but I know that poinsettias don't come in blue…….but a little bit of poetic licence is allowed in  craft, right?  :-)

For this card I have kept is super simple and I have coloured and decoupaged the two elements - flowers and leaves and applied them to some nice circle nestie die cuts.

And that's really all I can say on this one, other than adding some links to some lovely challenges that I would like to enter.

The whole kit and caboodle

My last post of the day……. but I had to post this little gift set which I made for a work colleague who had just become a granny for the first time.

I thought I would make her a little 'congrats on being a  granny' card using this lovely Messy Rabbit stamp…..but then it kind of turned in to something bigger.

I had recently bought a round knitting loom and wanted to try my hand at making a hat. I had some lovely soft snuggly wool left over from an old project…so what better way to experiment!

Once that was done i thought it would be a shame not to present it nicely so I decided to make a matching box as well.
It may not be the best hat in the world but I was pretty pleased with how it all turned out and my friend at work was really delighted wither little surprise :-)

So I'm thinking it would be nice to enter a few challenges with this one, so here goes:

Scene from Stamp Addicts

And another scene from Stamp Addicts - this time using one of their flower sets.

I used a gelli pad and distress ink to make this card…clearly much practice still needed!

Winter Trees from Stamp Addicts

Hi all.

A very quick post to show a couple of cards made using the Winter Trees stamp set from Stamp Addicts.

The tree itself is just huge as these are 6x6 and A5 cards!

Bubbles are a girl's best friend

Hi all. I hope those of you in the UK are enjoying a lovely Bank Holiday weekend….a little more time for crafting and all the good things in life I hope.

Speaking of which….don't you think that relaxing in a bath full of fragrant bubbles is one of the most indulgent ways to spend a bit of 'me' time?

I think that this particular stamp conveys that perfectly….wouldn't it be grew to be able to fil lip your bath right to the top just like that?

As you can see, I have made a departure from my usual staples and gone for some water colour pencils for a change and I have glittered up those bubbles just a little bit (I wish you could do that in real life too!)

I have used a lovely colour combination that I stumbled on for this card, whilst printing identical papers in different colours from one of my Polkadoodles CDs (Pretty Sweet). I really love the mauve and olive together as it's soft and a little bit different to the usual pairings that I use.

So that's my very quick post for today, and finally here are some challenges that I would like to enter:

Fairy wings and Pretty Things…..

Spring is still very much in the air here where I live and we have another beautiful sunny day to look forward to. It is 9.30 am here and I have already been out for a walk…..so peaceful, nothing but boards chirping. If only I could start every day like this  :-)

So for today it's time to forget about Christmas once again and move back to all things Spring in the form of a gorgeous Fairy Glenn stamp from Sugar Nellie.
These are quite sizeable stamps which makes them really fun to colour and a great canvas for doing a bit of toning and shading. I tried to be a bit braver with my light and dark tones to get a bit more definition and I think I managed to get there this time….I just hope I can do it again!

I also made a couple of flower embellishments using Britannia flower dies in large and medium, plus some scraps of paper that I had 0 waste not want not as they say :-)

So , on to the lovely challenges that I would like to enter today:

21 degrees outside - a great day to think about Christmas!

We have lovely weather here in my neck of the woods - it's Saturday morning, the sun is shining and we are expecting a temperature of a heart warming 21 degrees today……fantastic for the UK in May!

So what do I decide to do….well post up a Christmas card of course!

You know I popped on to someone else's blog today and they had a days 'till Christmas counter….apparently 222 days to go. I guess I don't have to panic about Christmas cards just yet then!

Here is a card that I made some time ago, using some stamps that Stamp Addicts sent to me.

I love the Santa - he is one of my favourites  and really nice  to colour if you want to get practicing with a bit of shading.

The trees are also a stamp and I used multi tonal ink pad and then finished them of with a coating of Crafters Companion glitter spray.

So - time for a few challenges:

It started with a sketch…...

Leafing through the blogs (as you do!) I came across a sweet little sketch on Friday Sketchers which I decided to follow. Usually, by the time I get around to making the crd the challenge is already over, but on this occasion I have this little sweetie and matching papers all coloured up and ready to go, so a bit of die cutting, a bit of am bossing and I was ready to go!!
This is a gorgeous Sugar Nellie image which I coloured in with Copics (for which I have a new found love, now that I appreciate the benefit of brush nibs!

I then followed the sketch exactly to produce the card that you see here.

Hope you like it :-)

Here are some lovely challenges which I am going to enter before getting outside to enjoy a little bit of that sunshine

New CLF challenge

Time for a new Crafty Little Fairies challenge and, guess what - to give you more time to join in the fun we are now moving on to Monthly Challenges.
The theme for this month is, 'In the Garden' and as you can see, I have interpreted the theme quite loosely here!…..but that's OK so long as you use a stamped image or digi in your project.

I have chosen this a sweet little LOTV image and paired her up with some scraps of NitWits paper that I had, to create a nice CAS card.

Last but not least, here are some other lovely challenges that I would like to enter:

http://natalieandamy.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/challenge-20-rubber-stamping.html

http://sisteractcardchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2014/05/challenge-55.html

Hope you like it and I look forward tossing all you lovely creations over on Crafty Little Fairies this month.

Bye for now.
