Flights of Fantasy Copper gift box

Hi there. Hope you are all enjoying the beginning of a lovely long Bank Holiday weekend!

After what has been a very industrious day so far, I have decided to sit down and spend a little time in blogland.

My first post today. looks like a card...but that's because my photography isn't very good! It is actually a gift box which I made using some grand nesties.

I coloured my lovely wistful fairy in using Spectrum Noirs and, in case you were wondering, she is a digital image from the Flights of Fantasy CD by Crafters Companion. The delicate paper that you can see in the background is also from the same CD.

Finally my dimensional flowers have been made using Britannia dies which I matched in with the very elegant fairy gloves!

I hope you like her!

Bye for now.

I'm dreaming of a Bright Christmas

Hello and welcome to a very unseasonal post!

Over at Fab n Funky we have our new challenge theme which is 'Bright Christmas'.

We have a great sponsor for this week in Bunny Zoe Crafts, but unfortunately they have decided to close their shop, so they wanted toilet you know that you will be able to grab a fabulous 30% discount from their  store if you want to pop over there and grab a bargain.
Meanwhile, back to this week's challenge. I have used a gorgeous...but tiny.....house mouse image for my card, and paired him up with a fabulous Crafters Companion embossing folder.

Here's the best bit - the ribbon is actually off of a gift box that I received last Christmas......so it must be infused with Christmas spirit - lol!!

So - a very simple card, but I hope you like it.

Look forward to seeing you over at Fab n Funky.

Enjoy the simple things

Hi there - hope you are all having an enjoyable weekend.

I am back today with a lovely Sherri Baldy stamp which I have coloured with the Vintage Spectrum Sparkles set.
She is such a little cutie don't you think? Also I love the sentiment that came with her - 'Enjoy the simple things' - a perfect sentiment for those time when you just want to give some one a little boost.

As you can see, I have coloured my image on water cooler card, which means that you can move the sparkle ink about much more easily, either with water of a clear sparkle pen.

I coloured her is lovely soft colours  to match my papers an the lovely ribbon that I found in my ribbon box.

As for the rest, in keeping with the sentiment, I have 'kept it simple'.

Thanks for visiting today.

Not the usual 'Birdie'.....

Hi there and thanks for coming to visit my blog. Today I thought that I would focus on a different kind of birdie than the feathered ones that we all love.....so I have turned my attention to Golf and those ind of birdies.

Today's card uses a really run image from Digistamp Boutique, featuring 'Ralph', and he comes with a 'par-rect' sentiment too!
I have coloured him in with alcohol pens and then matted and layered using a variety of manly papers from my stash.

Hope you like him...he was very good colouring therapy!

Thanks for visiting today.

Underneath the arches

Hi there. I have finally got around to posting on my blog once again. Can you believe that I have been on holiday from work for the last two days...but I still can't find time to blog?  As per usual I am trying to cram so much in to my precious free time...including some crafting......that the blog has taken a back seat!

But here I am on Saturday evening, taking a few minutes out to post a card that I made with the Crafters Companion Kimono stamps and paper pad.
I wanted to make something a little different so I made this arch shaped 'z' card using a ruler, a compass and a bit of measuring.

I coloured the lady with Spectrum Aquas and then picked one of the lovely glittered papers to cut out some embellishments to match the theme.

I hope you like it! Now I'm off to make some dinner...and then maybe a little more crafting time.  :-)

Thanks for stopping by.

Girly Things at Fab N Funky

It's challenge time again at Fab n Funky and this week we are looking at all things girly.

We have a lovely sponsor this week - a Day for Daisies - and they are offering a voucher to spend at their on line shop as a prize.

I chose this delicate little fairy for my card and you can find her right here.
She is such a tiny and delicate little creature so I decided to use my Lyra pencils for this one so that I could get in to the details  a bit more easily. The twigs and her little arms as legs are not that much wider than a pencil lead in my version but I managed to get in there and do some shading thanks to my trusty pencil sharpener which gave me a lovely point on my pencils.

I have kept the card fairly simple but have used a lovely detailed Tonic die to frame my little fairy....and I resisted the urge to apply glitter and pearls.....I just added the tiniest bit of sprakle to her wings.....well you have to for a fairy don't you??

So that's my card for today. I do hope that you will pop over to Fab n Funky and join in with this week's challenge. Look forward to seeing you there.

Scenes of Spring

Well......just for the moment.....it feels like Spring is here in my part of the UK. We have had some lovely sunshine........in between heavy rain showers, high winds and hail!!!

So I thought it was time to post a Spring Scene on my blog, which I made with a selection of my Cardio stamps. I love making these kind of cards, but you really need to do it when you have a lot of table space available to spread out. I find that I end up with little stamps stuck to mounts all over the pace and tonnes of ink pads and random bits of paper floating around. Plus there is always a lot of 'washing up' to do afterwards!!!

None the less, I had a lovely time making this card...it sort of makes me feel a bit 'arty' when you actually create a whole scene from scratch.

I hope that this card has brought a little sunshine in to your life today, regardless of the weather outside.  :-)

Thanks for visiting.

New Baby

I don't often get to make new baby cards, so it was really nice to make this one for a friend to give to her niece.

I thought that this image was so cute from the Humphrey range and, even though I knew I was making the cards for a girl, I decided to step away from the traditional pink and opt for soft shades of purple instead.
I coloured my image with Spectrum Noirs and picked correlating papers from one of my Humphrey CDs to go with it. Of course - being a baby card, it gave me licence to throw in a bit of ribbon and lace too!

I hope you like todays card....hope to be back soon with something else to show you.

Bringing some Sparkle in to my Life

Today's post is all about sparkle and embossing! This is a Christmas card that I made using some of the wonderful stamps from Chloe Endean.

As you can see, there is lots of layering involved but the card itself was very simple to make.

I stamped and embossed two of the Chloe stamps, which match perfectly, and then added Nuvo glitter drops for the decorations.

I also stamped and embossed the sentiment, and was so impressed that the quality of the stamp is so good that you can still read it after it has been embossed!

Finally every edge was glittered before layering up the final card.

Needless to say I had to make a box for this card...there was no way it was going to fit in to an envelope!

Thanks for visiting, and I hope you are all having a grand weekend.
