Time for Tea

Well we have had a wonderful sunny day here in the UK.....no time for crafting today, but I did grab this card from my stash, because this is exactly what I would like to be doing on a nice sunny day like today.......sitting outside having tea and cake!

I made this card using some of the Sparkles stamps and coloured them in entirely with sparkles pens, using lovely pastel colours.

You can't really tell from my rubbish photography but the table cloth actually sticks out the cake is in front of the tea cups.

So that's my very quick post for today. I want to make the most of the sunny weather and go for a walk now.....you never can tell wen the sunshine will disappear again!

Thanks for visiting.

A new challenge at Fab n Funky

Hello there. I'm back to tell you about a new challenge over at Fab n Funky this week, and this time the theme is Christmas........well it will soon be creeping up on us you know!!

So I have decided to go with a lovely snowy winter scene using a variety of stamps from Card-io handsome black ink.

Once I had stamped out my wreath, I used some of those little versa mark ink cubes in yellow and red to create a lovely sunset in the corner and I added some sparkles for the glittering snow.

I don't know where this place is, but I would love to be there!

Don't forget to pop over to Fab n Funky and join in the fun.

Thanks for visiting.

Christmas in non traditional colours

Today I am back with something a little 'off season', and thinking about Christmas once again.

I love the effects that you can get by brushing over ton paper to make hills and then adding black silhouette stamps. There are so many wonderful stamps out there to enable you to do this and on these particular cards I have gone to town with the Card-io Christmas range.

I think my favourite thing is the fir trees which are so detailed, even though they are just in outline.

I used just the very top of the branches of a tree to create the bushes too - very easy and very satisfying.

I hope you enjoyed my little bit of Christmas spirit today, and thank you as always for visiting.

Fluttering by with a Butterfly

Hi there.

It's been a while since I posted so I thought I would flutter on by with this butterfly card.

I am not usually one for quotes, but I thought this one was really lovely and the sort of thing you could use for almost any occasion.

The quote, the gorgeous butterfly and the flowers are all from the Sheena Douglas stamp range and I have coloured them all in with Spectrum Aquablend pencils which will give an amazing bold colour if you desire, or can be used for a much more delicate touch like the little flowers on the right.

I will finish by saying that I hope a butterfly comes and sits on your shoulder today.

Thanks for stopping by.

Childs Play

I'm a little late in posting but there has been a new challenge over at Fab n Funky today, and this week the theme is 'For a Child'.

The sponsor this week is  the fabulous digi stamp company Bugaboo who have a fantastic range of images featuring kids.

I have used this great fishing image, which I have coloured with my Spectrum Noirs, with no shading to keep that flat, cartoon style appearance.

My papers are from Crafters Companion Angelica and Adam range - a lovely range of soft colours.

So that's my card for today. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

House Mouse, Poppies and no stamping!

Hi there. I am back today with a card that has no stamping for a change. I am a big fan of House Mouse. The images are so cute that I just like to print them and look at them sometimes!

For this card I have picked two lovely images and a matching backing paper, all based around poppies.
I am not sure if you can see to well (as usual my photography skills are severely lacking!) but I have decoupaged the petal layers on the poppies ever so slightly, to keep that lovely dedicated feel.
Isn't this flying mouse oh so cute?  I think we all wish we could do that some times!

Well that's my very quick post for today.

Thank you for your visit and hope to see you again soon.

Sparkles Pens - A little birdie told me.....

Today I thought I would show a very quick and simple card using Sparkles pens and some of the Sparkles stamps.

Can you see the marbled background? I made that with the sparkle pens. I blobbed them on my craft mat, spritzed the ink with water and then played my water colour card of top and swished it around a bit.

I then used the same pens to colour my little birds, before adding in a few musical notes, which I drew freehand.

Probably not the most fabulous card, you ever saw, but, for me, it was a good way to try out a new technique!  :-)

Bye for now and thanks for stopping by today.

Feeling Blue?

It's not often that I go monochrome...al though I really like the look, but on this occasion I decided to go for lots of lovely blues.

It all came about because I was colouring the Sheena Orchids in lovely shades of blue from my Spectrum Noirs. After that I had to find card and paper to coordinate in lovely shades of blue, plus a perfect piece of ribbon to match my green stalks.

I thought both of the stamps made lovely corners, so I opted for a flowery border with the words in the middle.

I don't think blue orchids exist in real life , but wouldn't it be lovely if they did?

Bye for now, and thanks for visiting.

Spring is blossoming

It seems that here in the UK, (in between rain showers and the occasional hail!) we are starting to see signs of spring. There are some beautiful trees in my street which have lovely pink and white blossom. It doesn't last very long, so we have to enjoy it while it is here.

So, in honour of the lovely blossom, here is my interpretation using Sheena blossom stamps and water colour pencils.

I have stamped the branch on to the base card, and then applied the flowers and leaves in a decoupage style, with oodles of 3d glee gel!

A few butterflies and a lovely sentiment, and my card is complete.

I hope you like my little bit of Spring, and that the 'real' Spring is kind to us this year!

Thanks for visiting.
