Sheena's 'Honesty' with Spectrum Aquablends

Well here I am again, for the second day running (that makes a change!) with another sample from the new stamps from Sheena. You may have seen this one on the Create and Craft shows...I saw it pop up a few times!

Included in this stamp set is a lovely spring of some sort of flower buds and I thought they would make an excellent panel border. I stamped one the right way up, and then another upside down, before filling in any gaps with  a bit of random stamping. Once you cut the border down to size, it looks like you see it in my card, and I was really please with the effect.

I stamped the lovely lady on to my main piece of card and coloured her with the Aquablends, and I also stamped, coloured and sit out a few roses, which conveniently come in two different sizes.

Everything was done on watercolour card, which made the blending nice and easy...especially the edging which I added to bring her out of the card a bit...that was super easy, and very satisfying once you see the end result!

So that's my card for today.

Thanks for visiting and I hope to see you back here again soon.

Hats off!!!!....or hats on in this case.

Hi there. Did any of you manage to catch Sheena Douglas on Create and Craft this week? She was showcasing the fabulous new Spectrum Aquablend pencils alongside some of her fabulous 'a little bit sketchy' stamp range.

I was lucky enough to create some samples for the shows, using both Sheena stamps, and other brands and, for this card I chose a fabulous Sherri Baldy digistamp.
I coloured her on to water colour card and, as you can see, you can get a lovely blend of light and darker shades with these pencils.

The papers that you can see are also digital, printed from the lovely Scruffy Little Kitten CD which is right up my street, colourise, and this is one of those papers that I print out over and over again.

I will be back another day with some more of my samples but meanwhile, if you missed Sheena's show you can pick them up on catch up via the Create and Craft website...trust me, they are really worth a watch!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a great weekend.

A little pot of sweetness

I have been doing a lot of creating recently, and therefore not much posting....I can only do one or the other!.......so I thought I would spend a little time on this Monday evening posting a card that I made a little while ago.

It stayed in my possession for only about a day as it was quickly given to my niece for her birthday...it's a good job tat I take pictures of everything!

I was on a mission to use up some NitWits papers that I had printed during a printing frenzy some time back. The bottom paper is quite loud and so i decided to challenge myself and colour an image to match because, as you all know, I am usually a pastel girl!
I picked this lovely image from Sherri Baldy and used lovely bright colours to colour her in, using the backing papers as a pallet.

Finally, I used a distress pen to throw in some faux stitching and the dotty background......I hope they are not annoying little midges or my little girl will not be looking happy for too much longer!

I hope you like my card for today. :-)

A final word before I go - be sure to set record on C&C for Sheena Douglas on Thursday if you can. The fabulous Spectrum Aquablend pencils will be launching and Sheena will no doubt be showing us some fabulous techniques. These pencils are fabulous......now you know what was keeping me busy!
Enjoy the shows.  :-)

Polka doodle's Odella is all heart.........

I have had a avery busy week, crafting with some fabulous new products which will be coming on to the craft market very soon.....keep an eye on Crafters' Companion and watch this space!

Meanwhile, this as left very little time for 'other' crafting, so I am showing a card that I made a little while ago, using this fabulous dig stamp from Polkadoodles.
I love the Odella range as they are just a little bit quirky and they are fabulous to colour!

For this card, I started out with some leftover bits of paper, which i though would work nicely with Odella's tartan skirt.

So Coloured the skirt first, to match my checkered paper, followed by the heart, to match the lovely rustic orange paper, finally picking out the pale blue element for the boots and top.

I have kept the card fairly clean and simple as the coloured paper and the fabulous image speak for themselves I think!

I hope that you like my card for today. Happy weekend, everyone.

It's all about the men at Fab n Funky.

I can't believe how time is flying......we are half way through February...Valentines day is done.....Mothers' Day is on the way....closely followed by Easter......yikes!!

Meanwhile it has quickly come around for a new challenge at Fab n Funky and this week the theme is Male Birthdays, sponsored by Dr Digi.

I love this company for it's quirky and comical designs which are a refreshing change - especially for male birthdays when cute just won't do.
I am not normally one for colouring pictures of men in their undies but this one did make me chuckle.

I used some lovely Dovecraft papers to mat and layer for this card and then I coloured my image using complimentary colours, using my Spectrum Noir blendable pencils which I really love.

So that's my card for this challenge. I would love to see your male cards over on the challenge....I could always do with some inspriation!

Thanks for visiting today.

One layer - lots of inking.

Back with my second post of the day - this time something I created using Cardio stamps. I always watch with amazement when Wendy at Cardio and Barbara at Clarity demonstrate these techniques on TV....and it always makes me want to get my stamps out and have a go.

So on this occasion, I decided to leave my pens and pencils alone, and just go with inks and paper.

I ended up with stuff all over the table...it certainly isn't one for lap top crafting in front of the telly, but I am always a little excited by what will be revealed when you lift up that little scrap of paper.

So there we have it - a simple one layer card....hope it made you smile too.

3 chicks easter card

So - we have pancake day coming up next week.....which can only mean one thing...Easter is on the way! It has caught me by surprise as I suddenly realised that Easter falls in March this year.....that means less time to make my cards and felt chicks!!!!!!

It turns out that last year was a bit last minute, card wise too.....and I never got around to posting some of them, so I thought I would dig out an old one for today.

I love these little chicks! They are from a Fizzy Moon CD which works of Serif - I love their little faces.  :-)

My backing paper was a left over scrap but I am pretty sure it came from a Bebunni CD.

I did a little ink blending for the grass and sky and the tiny little bees were stamped with a stick stamp from Stamps by Judith.........took me ages to colour those in...ha ha!!

So that's my very simple card for you...hope it puts a smile on your face.

Hearts and Flowers with Moonbeam Meadow

Hello all. Once again I am finding it difficult to find time to post at the moment...I wish I knew where all the time has been disappearing to!

So finally i have a quiet moment to sit and do a little post, and of course it had to be all about the big  challenge them of the moment.......love!

This is a card that I made a while ago, when I was feeling adventurous with my Craftwell spray gun!

I cut a heart template out of scrap paper and used it as a mask so that I could spray the heart shape. I then stamped my beautiful Moonbeam image stamp, finally colouring in with Spectrum Noirs.
One little tip - as you can see, the image goes outside of the white heart. So, once I had stamped the image, I used a blender pen to beach out the leaf areas before colouring so that they wouldn't be contaminated by the dark blue.

I have to say, I think those tiny little mice are just the cutest thing!

Hope you all alike my card today. Happy weekend, and I hope to see you all again soon.

All Creatures Great and Small

Hi there.

It's my turn to host the challenge over at Fab N Funky this week. We have a fabulous sponsor this week in the shape of:

They have a massive collection of beautiful images, but the birds are particularly my favourites, which inspired me to choose this weeks theme:

All Creatures Great and Small

Our fabulous design team have produced some fabulous works of art which are show cased here

Of course my card just had to be made with those fabulous birds that I mentioned. There are so many lovely images to choose from that it was difficult to narrow it down to one image..but in the end I opted for this singing trio.

I had some lovely Nitwits papers from the Fincy's Garden FQB which i though work perfectly with the birds and the colours are lovely and bright for spring soothes really ticked all my boxes.

The colouring took a little while with my trusty Spectrum Noirs, but was so worth the effort once I had the finished picture...it really made me smile!

So now I am really looking forward to seeing what everyone in blog land comes up with!I hope that you that you will come and join us for this challenge. See you over at Fab n Funky. :-)
