Sometimes you just need to be subtle.....

........so I decided to go for some subtle and muted colours for this card using one of the lovely new releases from Little Claire's. This lovely little vase of flowers is so easy to colour and great for a quick card. I have just coloured the image in 'flat' and matted on to gray card stock couple with some papers that I printed from my SWALK CD.

Just a quick post today as so much to do and so little time!!

Thanks for looking.

Little Claire's Challenge

It's challenge time again over at Little Claire's and this time the theme is shaped cards.

I wanted to do something a bit dimesional this time so I've opted for and arched stepped card which you can make fairly easily from a pice of A4 card stock.

All you need to do is draw an arc with a compass at the top of your card stock and then cut straight lines all the way down to the bottom of the card so that you end up with something looking like a really long arched window. Once this is done you can score lines across at the bottom end to make as many steps as you want to. Then, to get the papers to fit perfectly, I simply used the compass on the same setting to draw semi circes on the grass paper and cut if the edges in the same way. I then reduced the radius of the compass to cut the sky paper which gives a lovely and perfectly formed border when you mat it on to the card stock.

The papers I used were from NitWits (I am sooooo into them now!). The sky was from the Just Hatched range and I have to say I think this is going to become one of my staple papers. The flowery grass was from the Petal Pixies range (I think!!)

And now to the stamps...... I have got a bit of everything here. The dogs are 'Fetch' and 'Woof' from the acrylic stamp range, and the kennel is from their digi stamp range which had the added bonus os being re-sizeable so I could get it just right.

Oh - and not forgetting of course, it was lovingly coloured with my beloved Pro Markers!

Finally, I thought I would enter this card in to the Passion For Pro Markers Challenge, which is 'All the Twos'. The twos are:

  • Two dogs

  • Two types of images (digi and acrylic)

  • Two types of paper

I hope that you anjoy looking at this card as much as I enjoyed making it!

Another card from the RWAV seasons set

As promised, here is another card featuring the new Room With a View Seasons set, only this time Spring has sprung. This time I've coupled it with one of the circular sentiments from the equally new sentiments set and, as you can see it happens to fit very nicely in to a scalloped nestie.

All that I can say is that I hope we will get to see some of thar lovely Spring like weather over the next few days as I've had enough of the grey skies and the rain for today!

I'm off to dig out some stamping supplies now as someof my scrapbooking friends have asked me to show them how to do stamping tomorrow night.......I think we're gonna be having some fun!!

Thanks for looking.

Post number three - more than one fold

I couldn't resist entering one more challenge today. It the Prairie Fairy Friday challenge and the theme is 'more than one fold'.

Here is a card that I originally made a long time ago for my blog friend Kay Carley. I don't often make the same card twice, but I liked it so much that I decided to make it all over again recently.

The stamp is from Joanne Sheen's Messy Rabbit range which I really love and the backing papers come from the gorgeous Messy Rabbit Christmas CD so it makes it really easy to match this all together.

Now I really must stop posting today and og away and od something more constructive......like house work.........yuk!!!!!

From the snow to the Beach in just one day!

The challenge at Stamp Something this week is to stamp something in beachy colours which seemed the perfect opportunity to pull out this old Sugar Nellie favourite of mine.

To be honest, I don't get too many opportunities to use this stamp so it was lovely to have a reason to get it out of the old coffers!

I have challenges myself to use only 'old stuff' for this card so I have coloured it in using my old Tombow pens, which haven't seen the light of day since I got in to alcohol pens.

The papers are some old ones that I found in my stash, so I am afraid I have no idea what they are!

Hope you like the card, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we will be able to spend a day or two on a beach just like this later this year. :o)

Can't believe I'm thinking about Christmas!

Yes it's true - Christmas is on my mind already and it's all thanks to a lovely new Room With a View Stamp set that Little Claire's are releasing next week. I think this is my favourite RWAV so far as you get four scenes to go behind the window - one for each season of the year, and a variety of sentiments which just happen to fit perfectly on to the cushion.

So for this example I just had to go with the Christmas snow man scene as I have a bit of a thing about snowmen! I have coloured the image with alcohol pens as per usual and, just because it's Christmas, you might be able to see that I've sneaked a little bit of glitter in there too.

The papers are from a lovely 6 x 6 Trimcraft set which is aptly named Winter Wonderland.

This week I would like to enter this card in to the Pear Tree Designs Stamp Something Challenge.

Thanks for looking - I'll be back with another Season soon.

.....but at least he's changed his clothes this time!

It's that little man on the bench again but this time in a different colour way. He's been dressed to match the background papers which are from the NitWits In the Meadow range.

Hope you like it and thaks for looking.

Fathers Day is coming......

..... but I won't be using this card for any of the Fathers in my life! This is a sample that I made for one of the new Little Claire's releases and all of the stamps that you can see on this card come in the pack. This card was planned to be used as a demo card for the next Little Claire's show on C&C but unfortunately the show is not going to be on, so this card will never fulfil it's destiny (soooo sad!). Never mind - I can still show it on my blog though!

The card base is a simple zig zag and the stamps have all been coloured using Copics - manly colours of course!

I have another sample using the man on the bench, but I guess I'll be posting that one in a few days time. Then, after that it'll be back to cute and girly for me as usual!

Thanks for looking.

Sentimental Hedgehogs

A quick post today using the gorgeous set of hedgehogs and the newly available sentiments stamps from Little Claire's. The hedgehogs come in a block of four which means that you can use them all together or stamp them out individually which really adds to their versatility. There are four different types of 'squares' stamps available from Little Claire's. As well as the Hogs, you can get Elephants, Westies and Cats. They are normally £7.50 per set but at the moment they have an offer to buy all four sets for £20, so it's well worth having a look over at their website.

The circular sentiment is one of a set of twelve, and there is something to cover pretty much every situation in the pack. This is a new release but I am pretty sure that it's available to buy now so just hop on over to their website to check it out.

Well that's about all from me today as I still have loads to to from my day job.

Until next time - happy stamping!!

Cute little digi cats

I saw this image on one of my DT buddie's blogs last week and I just had to have it! The image comes from Digistamps and you can buy a set featuring a number of images with these adorable cats for less than £3....bargain!

So I couldn't wait to print one off and start colouring, and I have to say I loved every minute of it!

I have doubled the image up with some papers from the NitWits Eggstra Special set, which has lovely vibrant colours.....perfect for spring and summer.

I have decided to enter this card fo a few challenges, so here goes:

CES Challenge - Favourite Colour Combo (mine at the moment is green and bright pink)

Stamp Something - Digi (I have a digi stamp and digi papers - so the full monty!)

Pear Tree Designs - Spring (well I think this is pretty 'springy!)

Well I hope you liked this card....I think I am now hooked on this digi stuff so you can expect to see a few more in the future!

Thanks for looking.

On yer bike.....

.....and I mean that in the nicest possible way!

Here's another card featuring the May Club set from Little Claire's, but this time I have opted for something a little more girly!

The bike and the flowers in the basket are from the stamp set, but I have used a selection of my sticks and stubbies from Stamps by Judith to create the ground area and also the background on the base card. This is really easy to do and very satisfying and you simply take a few elements, such as flowers, leavers and branches, and just randomlt stamp them around the edge of the card until you have enought depth to suit you. Give it a try if you have some tiny stamps - you really can't go wrong!

Anyway - I'm off now. Lots of lovely challenges I'd like to enter, but sadly not enough time!!

Bye for nw.

Red, White and Blue

I have finally managed to get one more card finished for a couple of challenges this week.

I would like to enter this card for the Promarkers Official Blog Red, White and Blue challenge.

The promarkers I have used for this card are Berry Red, Lipstick Red, True Blue and Midnight Blue.

I am also entering the card for Sketch and Stash and my stash for this is my lovely SWALK stamp which I bought when the first set of designs came out, but until now it had remained unused!

Thanks for looking!

Little Claire's May Club Stamp Set

Hello all,

I thought I should post a picture of a card that I made using the Little Claire's stamp set for May. It features a bicycle and lots of accessories to go with it - including a cute little dog. It's perfect if you like using a masking technique as you can fill up the basket with different things.

What's also good about this stamp set is that you can adapt it for either a man or a woman, simply by changing the colour schemes.

This card started out as being a manly card, but I am not sure if I have gone a bit girly with the flowery backing paper! As you can see though, I have masked the basket and put in a few bottles of wine, s oit is quite easy to add individual touches with either the stamps included in the set or any other small stamps that you might have.

Thanks for looking.

Love is in the Air

This week's challenge at LOTV is 'Love is in the Air', so I thought I would take the opportunity to break out a stamp that I ordered from them a little while ago, but hadn't got around to using just yet.

The Papertake challenge blog also had a nice sketch to follow this week so I thought I would use it for the layout of my card.

And finally, it 'Anything Goes' over at Peartree Designs, so this liilte baby is getting linked to that site as well.

Unusually for me, I have broken out of my mould and used a combination of Copics and Promarkers to colour the image. Now I know there's no reason why you can't do that, but for some reason I always feel like I shouldn't mix different brands of pens........guess I'm just not that adventurous! Glad that I have broken out of my box for this one though as I was struggling to find the right shade of pink in my Copics!

Also, and I don't know if it's come out clearly on the photo, I have used paperpiecing from one of the background papers to make the little girl's dress and bow. I really should do this more often as I really like the technique.

Anyway - that's enough waffle from me. I'm off to see if I can make another card tonight.....if I can keep my eyes open that is!

Thanks for looking.

Something with Wings

Here's a card that I made to enter this week's Stamp Something Challenge for which the theme is 'Something with Wings'.

So I have gone for the obvious, which is of course a Fairy. I have plenty of those to choose from in my collection but I've gone for this lovely Little Claire's one as I love it's cheeriness and simplicity, and also there is a little flower sramp to match it, which I used for the embellishments.

I have gone for something a little different this time round by creating an aperture and putting the image on the inside of the card.

The image is coloured with Copics and I have put a little bit of glitter on the wings (in had to be done).

So that's my card for today. I'm off now to see if I can get another challenge card done today.......I'm allowing myself a little extra crafting time today, as a reward for poor little me having to go to work tomorrow and sit in the office all on my own all day!

Bye for now.
