Clean and Simple with Cute Card Thursday

It's time for a new challenge over at Cute Card Thursday, and this week the theme is Clean and Simple.

I have used this lovely Lemon Shortbread image which, I think looks remarkably like Alice in Wonderland.

I have coloured her with Spectrum Noir Blendable pencils in shade to match my backing paper.

Finally a little bit of flowery ribbon to finish things off.

Thanks for visiting today, and I hope you will join us over at Cute Card Thursday.

Bye for now.

Bird Watching

Well it's been a while since I blogged but I thought I would pop  by today with a card that I made a while back, when the Spectrum Sparkles pens first came out.

I was quite taken by the little owl and I wanted to give him the effect of peaking out of a tree. so this is the result.

I am sorry - the picture is rubbish - it was a very dull day!

Have a look at the papers. Can you guess where they are from?.........you will be surprised...........they are from the Downton Abbey CD! Just goes to show how you can easily mix and match.......so long as you can remember which CD the papers were on!

I have added some random dies for a bit of foliage, and that's about it.

I have to say, my Sparkles colouring has come on a lot since I first tried them out on this card, but hopefully you will draw some inspiration from it.

Thanks for visiting today.

Vintage Sparkles with Sheena

Time for a new challenge at Cute Card Thursday and this week the theme is Vintage.

I love vintage but don't dabble much in it myself, however this beautiful rose stamp and die from the Sheena Douglass Perfect Partners range seemed just perfect for the job.

As you can see, the rose on tis card is VERY 3d and looks very delicate. Can you believe that its has been made from cheap photo copy paper???

I saw Sheena demonstrate these types of stamps and dies at the NEC, and you really can get the best results using the cheap paper, purely because it gives you the flexibility that you need to shape the flower.

So, for this card I dies cut the shapes and then stamped them before colouring with lashing of Vintage Spectrum Sparkle pens. Then you have to let them dry and you are left with a slightly crispier version of the paper which you can hold and stick together to make the flower.

I think that this would make a lovey topper on a decorative box too.

Finally, the papers came from a magazine freebie pack, but there are some really nice vintage papers in the Downton Abbey range if you are looking for something to fit the theme.

Well that's all  for me today. I hope you will come and join us over at Cute Card Thursday.

See you there!

More Colorista..........

Day tow of the UK launch of UK Colourist is here, and I thought I would showcase a page from the A4 Nature's Beauty pad today.

This time I have picked a beautiful page featuring a flower that I recognise, but can't think of the name! Anyway, they are very soft and delicate in real life and I wanted togged the same effect so I have coloured the flower very lightly in hues of pink.

How do you like my frame? I got it go with the silver foiling on the page...it cost me £1.50 from Wilko.........bargain!!!!

Finally, I wanted to make it a little different to just a flat picture so I cut out a butterfly that I like from the Butterlies pad, and stuck it to the corny of the glass with some Colall 3d Glue Gel.

So that's my sample for today. Hope you are all enjoying the shows.

Colorista is here!!!

Hi all.

Have any of you been following the Colourista colouring class hosted by Sara Davies on You Tube? If so, the day the all you UK colourists have been waiting for is finally here! The Colourista range launches on Hochanda tonight!

I was very lucky to receive some of the colouring pads, and was tasked with preparing some TV samples using the Colourblend pencils.

Here is a sneak preview of what is to come...a fabulous tulip which I have made in to an 8 x 8 card.

All of the colouring has been done with the Colourblend pencils with no extras.....so no blending solution, no paper stumps......just pencils.

I hope that you are able to tune in to some of the shows...they are sure to be packed with lots of tips, techniques and inspiration.

My record button is already set!!

Thanks for stopping by!

All creatures great and small.....

It's time for a new challenge over at Cute card Thursday, and this week the theme is Creatures, so I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to showcase this little guy from Crafters Companion........look at that little face!....how could anyone resist that?

So, I have used a variety of stash for my card this week. The stamp is from the Moon Beam Meadow range at Crafters Companion and I have coloured him with Spectrum Blendable pencils, paper stumps and blending solution.

The green butterfly paper is from the Scruffy Little Kitten CD, also from Crafters Companion...and I have to say this contains some of my favourite 'ditsy' papers!

Finally, the paper with the poppy seed is from an old Joanna Sheen CD. Sadly I don't think it is available anymore, but it seemed to fit so well that I just had to use it.

I hope you like my little card for today and that you will come over to Cute Card Thursday and join us this week. Looking forward to seeing all your creations!

Morgan Fitzsimmons Fairy Girl

Hello all. I hope you are having a lovely weekend.

I have been very busy preparing  for various launches etc these last few weeks so I haven't been able to get much 'personal' crafting done. Yesterday, was the first time for ages that I could just sit and play, and I spent a happy few hours re-aquainting myself with my Scan n Cut and setting up some basic matting templates.....something I have been meaning to do for ages!

Meanwhile, I thought I would post  a card I made quite a while ago, using the original Morgan Fitzsimmons CD. It is jam packed with loads of lovely images to colour in and this is one that I completed using my Spectrum Noir pens.

The image is preset in the panel shape that you see and is the perfect size for an A5 card.

I have added lots of lovely Tonic die cuts to embellish the card and I totally LOVE the soft and swirly backing paper too.

I hope you like my card for today. I am off now...ever hopeful of getting a bit more crafting time in!

By for now, and thanks for visiting.

House and Home

It's time for a new challenge over at Cute Card Thursday, and this week we have  challenge of 'House and Home'. I thought I would go for something a little different to the usual 'New Home cards', and also challenge myself by NOT using a stamp!!
This is what I came up with, suing some gorgeous Christmassy stuff from Polkadoodles, which I printed out multiple times so I could cut and decoupage.

I don't think this has to be specifically Christmas, but I couldn't help myself from adding a touch of glitter for that frosty feeling.

So - a very simple card today, which i hope you will like. Don't forget to visit Cute Card Thursday and show us your homely creations!

Thanks for visiting.
