Cute Card Thursday - Hello Summer

Time for a new challenge at Cute Card Thursday, where the theme is Hello Summer. I am writing this in advance and at the moment is is very dull, grey and cold, so I sure do hope that we are seeing some summer weather by the time this post goes live!

For my card this week, I have used a lovely Lacy Sunshine image, and Coloured her in with Spectrum Colourblend pencils and blending solution. I think this represents a typical summer here in the UK.....just take a look at the raindrops on those flowers - lol!

I coloured my image to match the lovely NitWits papers which I had already chosen, andI even used some of the digi flower images for the set to complete my card.

Hope you like my card for today, and that you will come and join in the fun over at Cute Card Thursday.

Bye for now.

Cute Card Thursday - The Great Outdoors

Hi there. We have a new challenge at Cute Card Thursday, and this week's theme is The Great Outdoors.

I realise that my card is a bit off season, as my tree is bare, but for me trees are a big part of being outside - I love them...so this seemed appropriate.

This card is not with me any more, but looking at the picture I wish it was, as I have just realised it is floating! I am afraid you will just have to imagine it with some grey shadow underneath so that it looks like it has landed back on Earth again! Ahhhh - the benefits of hindsight!!

Anyway - I am sure you all have some lovely outdoorsy creations to show us so I hope you will come and share them over at Cute Card Thursday this week.

Thanks for visiting today.

Cute Card Thursday - Flowers

Time for a new challenge over at Cute Card Thursday and this week we have a theme of Flowers. It was very difficult for me to choose what to post for this challenge as I have a LOT of flower images and I love them all, but I decided to go for this one from Tiddlyinks in the end, because it ticks the quirky and cute box, rather than being too realistic and serious.

I cracked out my Spectrum Noirs for this card and indulged in some gorgeous shades of mauve, and I made my ladybird a yellow one (even though I think they may be the ones that bite, which is definitely not cute!)

I have kept my card very CAS and just added some movement to the background by doing lots of random dotting with my pens.

The idea of the card was to put a smile on someone's face, so I sincerely hope it has done the same for you.

Thanks for visiting today, and please come along and share your own creations over at Cute Card Thursday.

Let's eat cake with Di's Digi Stamps and Colour Crazy

Hi. I'm back with another challenge card for Colour Crazy, where the theme is always anything goes, as long as you do some colouring. We are sponsored by Di's Digi stamps this week and they have the cutest images on their website. I was lucky enough to be able to work with this little chap, who is called let's eat cake.

I thought he was so lovely that I just wanted to make a very clean and simple card to focus on him. I love the style where the image is just in one corner, and that is what I tried to emulate here.

I have coloured him with my aqua pens by picking up the colour from a glass mat with a damp brush. This allowed me to get some shading in to the image.

My sentiment is part of a set from Lily of the Valley. I know they are dropping out of the stamping scene now, but you may still be able to grab this, or may be a digital version if you go over to their website.

So I hope you like my card for today. Looking forward to seeing you over at Colour Crazy.

Bring a little sparkle in to your world.....

Donna's fairies, and other forest creatures could be landing in your shopping basket today!

The shows start at 6pm, and if you have caught a glimpse of the Inkettes facebook page, you will have seen plenty to delight you I am sure!

Here is my next sample, made with glycerine and sparkle pens once again.

I have to say I absolutely loved making this card.....it nearly didn't make it in to the sample pile for the shows!

This is very simple to do. I took a pice of A4 Sheena card and cut it length ways. I then made a complete scene and coloured it before.......wait for it.....chopping it up in to pieces!!

Once that was done i could easily create my mats and base, and it magically all came together again. Quite appropriate, given the theme don't you think?

Thanks for stopping by today!

Anything Goes at Cute Card Thursday.

It's time for a brand new challenge over at Cute Card Thursday and this week's theme is my favourite - Anything Goes.

I thought this little guy was pretty cute, as images go, and I had a lovely time snipping and decoupaging with him.

We can't wait to see what you create so don't forget to pop along to the blog and join us.

Bye for now!

Do you know where the fairies live?

I think our chief Inkoid Donna had a pretty good idea on the answer to this question when she designed her new stamps.

Here we have a lovely fairy home nestled safely amongst the ferns in the forest. I think I would quite like to live there too!!

This is my second sample from Donna's new stamp release, showcasing on Hochanda at 6pm this Thursday.

Sheena will be demonstrating and there will be shows all day on Friday too, so plenty there to feast your eyes on.

My sample is made entirely using sparkle pens. I have used the glycerine technique to colour the card and used a spritzer followed by speedy dabbing with kitchen roll to get texture. I also used the pens like water colour paints to paint the main image and all of those ferns.

Hope you can tune in to some of the shows this week as there is some amazing art work coming your way from the rest of the DT.

Thanks for visiting today!

Just for fun at Fab n Funky - Any kind of embossing

Hi there. We have a new challenge at Fab n Funky this week where the theme is Any Kind of Embossing, so I thought I would go the whole hog and use both types.

As you can see, I have embossed some pearlescent card with an embossing folder for my matting, but I have also heat embossed my lovely Sheena's Poppy image with black embossing powder. This meant that I could water colour the image and the background easily without having to worry about going over the lines, plus it gives a lovely glimmer to the poppy seeds in the middle.

I hope you like my card today.

Look forward to seeing you over at Fab n Funky.

The fairies are coming!

I'm very excited to be able to tell you that, after a very popular first release, our talented Inkoid leader, Donna Ratcliffe, has created a second set of fairy stamps for us all to enjoy.

If you already have the original set, these will compliment them perfectly, or they will work equally well on their own.

They work brilliantly with all the fabulous inky techniques that Sheena shows us on the TV, and this. my first sample card is an example of how you can make gorgeous backdrops with just a couple of Sparkle Pens.

The shows start at 6pm on Hochanda this Thursday ( now channel 673). :-)

Thanks for stopping by today!
