A Sweet Sketch from the Sweet Stop

My second challenge of the day and this time it following sketch number SSS47 on the Sweet Stop blog.

I have to admit that the sketch has been followed a bt loosely this time as there are no embellishments on my version, but I wanted the image to remain the focal point on this card as it is so lovely, and this one did take a bit of effort to colour in.

Here is a link to the challenge that I am entering this time:

Thanks for looking once again.

Still too young to be a Great Aunty!

It is just over a week ago since I became a great Aunty for the first time, to adorable baby Jack. We were lucky enough to see him on Sunday and have some lovely cuddle time and most importantly, enjoy all the baby stuff, but without the sleepless nights!

I may have mentioned that I was knitting a baby blanket, so, whilst Jack's mum was in labour, I was busily clicking away, trying to get the last few inches of my blanket finished! Once that was done, I needed to wait for him to be born, make sure he actually was a boy (no last minute surprises!!) and the he was definitely going to be called Jack.

Once all that was finally confirmed, I was able to make this.....

As you can see, I have used a gorgeous Humphrey's Corner stamp, along with a coordinating paper and alphabet from the CD. He is coloured with Spectrums and mounted on to my die hard circle scallop nestie.

As you can see, I made a coordinating tag, which has the washing instructions for my blanket (would hate for it to go in to the washing machine as a blanket and come out as a flannel!)

Here's a picture of the complete set......

I thought I would enter this card in to a couple of challenges:

Joanna Sheen - For Someone Special

Crafters Companion - Four Legged Friends

Thanks for dropping by today and I hope you all have a relaxing Sunday!

Another Easter Card and Some More Challenges

Hello everyone - hope you are all enjoying your Bank Holiday Monday. Typically for us, it is pouring with rain, but I am sure that the weather will pick up in time for my return to work tomorrow.

Today I have another Easter card to post, which has been made using a Forever Friends image.

This image comes from a clear stamp pack and the bee and the chickare both separate, which gives you a bit more flexibility. There is also a lovely image of the bear peaking over a wall with his bunny ears on. I couldn't fit it on the front of the card, so I added it on the inside instead for that little bit extra.

Here's the list of challenges that I am entering today:

Crafters Companion - 4 legged friends
Anything Goes - Anything Goes
I love promarkers - Spring Time
My Mums Craft Shop - Easter Animals
Prairie Fairy Friday - Anything Goes
Stampin for the Weekend - Ready Teddy Go
Catch the Bug - Anything Goes
Secret Crafter Saturday - Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all enjoy your Bank Holiday.

Happy Easter!

Good morning everyone and a Happy Easter to all of you!

I am sitting here in my PJ's having a lazy morning, and enjoying a bit of blog catch up time, after a frenzied couple of days finishing Easter cards and also a knitted blanket for my Great Nephew who came in to the world of April 6th. Mother, father (my nephew!) and baby are all doing well and came out of hospital yesterday, so I am hoping that we will shortly be able to visit the new young family!

I will show his special card another day, but in the meantime.....back to Easter!

Here is a card that I made for my sister.......

The image is from Prairie Fairie, and I have used my favourite technique of the moment - multiple prints, coloured with promarkers and decoupaged.  The lovely papers are from thre NitWits Eggstra special range. I was a bit initmidated by this image when I first pronted it, but it turned out to be a lot easier to colour than I thought, so I was really pleased with the final result!

I am going to enter this in to a few challenges:
Secret Crafter - Easter
Sweet Stamping - Die Cuts and Doodles
Anything Goes - Anything Goes
My Mums Craft Shop - Easter / Animals
Prairie Fairy - Anything Goes
Catch The Bug - Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by everyone and hope you all have a lovely day.

One for the Boys.....

It was my husband's birthday yesterday and I wamted to make a nice card for him, but teddies and general cutiness just wasn't going to fit the bill this time!

Luckily, Prairie Fairy have some great digital images and I found the perfect one for him, which you will see below.

So after 5 minutes of sneaky colouring here and a bit of secret sticking there, here's the result that I managed to come up with.....

I printed this little chap out 4 times, and coloured and decoupaged him so that he is riding out of the front of the card, and then I had to get my glaze out to shine up the light and those fab glasses!

I plan to enter this card in to a few challenges:

CES Challenge - No girls allowed

Anything Goes - Anything goes

The Poodles Parlour - Polka Dots

Thanks for stopping by.......

A couple of 'Cheep' cards

Couldn't resist this little pun...even though I can picture you all groaning as you read!

Today I am posting the first (and to date the only completed) of my batch of Easter cards.

This is the first one......

It's made with a lovely Digi from Digistamp Boutique, coupled with some papers from the NitWits Eggstra special collection, which happens to be one of my favourietes becasue of the lovely vibrant colours.

As you can see, I have made full use of my Grand Nestie Scalloped circles here and there is a little bit of recycling in there too, as the green twine that you can see was originally wrapped around my mother's day flowers!

So here is version two of the same card, using all the same elements, but slightly different papers from the Eggsta Special collection.

I hope that you like them both!

There are some lovely Easter and Spring Challenges this week so I am going to enter these cards in to the following:

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Shaped Card
One Stop Craft - Easter
Card makin Mamas - Easter
The Poodle Parlour - Polka Dots
Cure Card Thursday - Happy Easter
Catch the Bug - Easter / Spring

The good news for me is that I am on holiday this week (whahooo!!!) so I am hoping to fit in some more time for Easter Card Making and also to finish off my mega task of finishing the knitted baby blanket that I am making for my soon to arrive Great Nephew number one.  I think I only have two or three inches left to knot, but, since there is another great nephew on the way (due to be born on my birthday) I have already bought the wool to start on a second blanket! Good job that I am enjoying the knitting experience so far.....variety is the spice of life as they say.

Also - I have received two lovely blog awards recently, so I really must devote some time to posting these and 'sharing the love,' but in the meantime I would like to say a big THANKYOU to the two lovely ladies who thought of me.

I think that's all from me for today, so thank you for stopping by, and come back for another visit soon!
