It's cold outside!

Here in the UK we are having very cold weather right now.....thick frosts in the morning, and, if we are lucky sunshine (but still freezing) once the frog clears!

Today is no exception, so I thought this card might be an appropriate one for today.

Everything you see is from Polkadoodles, one of my favourite craft companies. 😍

My image and papers are from the Winter Winnie CD Rom, and the beautiful die cut frame is also one of Nikky Hall's creations.

My cute little couple are coloured with Prismacolour pencils, which worked out really well as some of those bits are very tiny and detailed.

This card was originally designed as a Christmas Card, but if this weather keeps up, I think it will be good for Valentines Day too!

Thanks for visiting today.

Fab n Funky Challenge - use ribbon

Hi there. It's challenge time again at Fab n Funky and this week the theme is to use some ribbon.

For my card this week I have used some lovely Sheena Douglas Poppy stamps , which are part of her Perfect Partners range and come with matching dies.

I stamped and cut my poppies and leaves out, before colouring them with my Spectrum Noir pens which have a brilliant range of vibrant red shades.

For my backing I took some plain white card, which I embossed with my Crafters Companion textures folder (leaf), and then I added some distress ink lightly over the top to highlight the veins.

I little bit of glueing and sticking was required but otherwise a very simple, but very dimensional card. 😀

Thanks for coming to visit today. Don't forget to pop over to Fab n Funky to see the work from the rest of the DT and also to share your own creations.

Bye for now.

Buttons at Cute Card Thursday

We are back with a new challenge at Cute Card Thursday, sponsored by one of my favourite digi stamp artisrts - All Dressed Up.

This week's theme is buttons and this cute image is supplied by our sponsor.
😊
Isn't he a cutie? I have used my brand new Illustrator pens to colour him in. For the first time out of the box, I was quite pleased how he turned out.😊😊😊😊😊

I have kept my card fairly CAS and have embossed a bit of Kraft card with my Hessian textures embossing folder, to keep the whole thing fairly muted and keep the focus on the lovely little character.

Hope you like my card for today. I hope you will come and join us over at Cute Card Thursday this week!

Jardin Edgeable Die as seen on Hochanda today

Hi all.

Did you catch the Gemini shows on Hochanda today? They had an amazing package, including this gorgeous 'Jardin' edgeable die which is a massive 7.5 inches wide.

I made three samples, the first of which you can see here where I did something a little different. I made a box card from one of the templates on the Country Cottages CD ROM and them cut the edgable to create the garden. I just used plain white card and then coloured the die cuts with various distress inks.

Here is a more traditional use of the die to make a stepper card, which I have paired with a sentiment die form Sara's signature range and one of the free narrow embossing folders from a Crafters Inspiration magazine.
Finally, I used the die to create a centre panel which i have used with the 8x8 Kimono paper pad.

Thanks for your visit today, it really is appreciated.

Lovely Little Girls

It's time to start the challenges again at Fab n Funky, now that we are in to the New Year, and this week the theme is Little Girls.
I decided to use this lovely Octavia stamp from Polkadoodles and I have coloured her in using my Spectrum Noir pens. I love her angelic little face and her big eyes!

My papers are old ones that I found in my stash and I coloured my image to match, before finishing off with a Tonic Die cut which  is perfect  for lots of occasions.

So that's my card for today. I hope you will come and join us over at Fab n Funky so we can see your lovely creations too.

Bye for now.

Sheena Lily with Spectrum Aquas

Hi there.

Happy New year!!

I am back today with another card made using Sheena stamps - this time it is a lily, which I coloured with my Spectrum Aqua pencils.

I have no idea if lilies are really this colour...I just coloured it to match the backing paper which was an old scrap that I found during one of my 'waste not want not' days!!

The DP has a silvery grey shadow behind the little hearts, so I opted to use a matt silver base card to tone in with this, and sue a variety of dies to create the decoration and embellishments.

You can also see in the close up that there is a very neat cut around the flower elements, in particular the stamens. That's because Sheena has created matching dies to go with the stamps. so you get a perfect cut every time...and no scissors flying across the room when one of those stamens is accidentally snipped off!

So that's my card for today.

I hope that, wherever you are, you are all having a relaxing day and a very food start to 2017. :-)
