Prairie Fairy Moped for CLF

Hi all,

Well we are mid way through another challenge at Crafty Little Fairies this week and this time it's time to do something for the boys..not always an easy task I am sure you will agree!

For my offering, I have used some very old Do Crafts papers and a lovely digi from Prairie Fairy.

Most of my time was spent colouring this little guy on this card as I printed him 4 times and coloured and decoupaged it, but I thought it was really worth the effort in the end as it looks like he is coming out of the card :-)

So I have a few challenges to enter this week as follows:

Sister Act
Crafty Girls - Anything Goes
Card Makin Mamas - 3 layers or more
Make it Monday
Graph it - Denim
Cutie Pie - Cute with spots and dots

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Love in in the Air!

I don't often get to do wedding cards, but I have a friend who got married abroad and I wanted to make a card for them to receive when they got back. I wanted it to be a bit quirky, and have characters, but not soppy, so this image that I got from Bugaboo seemed just perfect for the job!

As you can see, the image is along the lines of Purple Ronnie or Diary of a Wimpy kid so it doesn't really want lots of shaded colouring, which means this took no time at all to colour up.

I then mounted it on the card and then put a circular aperture frame over it which I raised a bit using sticky pads.

Punched flowers using pearl paper made a  nice simple garland and I couldn't resist a bit of pearl paint for the flower centres.

For once the final card came out just as I had imagined it in my mind……always a bonus!

There are some lovely love challenges around this week, so here are the ones that I am going to enter:

A stamp free zone.

Why do I always feel like I'm cheating if I haven't stamped some part of a card when I create it? I really don't know why because you still have to spend ages thinking about the composition and the colours, not to mention quite a bit of eye boggling time cutting out some beautiful decoupage.

Anyway, I think I have often mentioned before tat, sometimes, there are days that I want to craft but not necessarily use the concentration that colouring requires - particularly after a tough day at work. Not to mention that all my CDs, which I buy predominantly for the papers, have some absolutely gorgeous images on them and this is just a perfect example of  that.

All of this card, including the bow is made from  my Barkley Christmas CD and, even though we are way past Christmas now, looking at that lovely image still makes me go all gooey inside!

Anyhow, I really hope you like my stamp free offering today and thank you for visiting. I really appreciate it as I haven't been the best of bloggers lately!

Hope to see you back here again soon.

Getting Lovey Dovey at CLF

With Valentines Day almost upon us, the Crafty Little Fairies have been turning their attention towards all things lovey dovey and, for my part, I have decided to go all soft and fuzzy with this lovely Popcorn stamps and complementary paper.

As you can see, this is quite a large image so you really don't need too much else to fill up a 6 x6 cards so I have gone with a matching backing paper and a bit of red ribbon to link with the lovely ribbon on the heart shaped box.

I have also delved in to my old time crafty stash for this image, using my Lyra aquacolour crayons which are really great for colouring large areas whilst maintaining that soft, water coloured effect.

I hope you will come and join us over at Crafty Little Fairies this week - we would love to see what ticks your lovey dovey box!

Thanks for stopping by.
