Cute Card Thursday - Shades of Pale

Hi there. It's time for a new challenge at Cute Card Thursday, and this week our theme is Shades of Pale.

When it comes to colouring, I like to use my Spectrum Colourblend pencils and blending solution to get a lovely soft look and that is exactly what I have done here.

My lovely lady is a digi image from the Polkadoodles Darling Buds range and I have matched her up with some left over scraps from one of my Nitwits paper collections (also digital).

I love this image as it makes me think of summer, and at the time this was made, we were really in need of some sunshine!

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you will join us this week on our challenge.

Colour Crazy - Use anything

Time for a new challenge at Colour Crazy, and this time I have water coloured with Spectrum Sparkle pens. I have done a combination of flat stamping and also stamped a few flowers on to photo copy paper which I then painted and decoupaged. This is a lovely technique to use as the flowers look so delicate and have a lovely curl to them.

I hope you will have some time to do some colouring, and share at Colour Crazy. We look forward to seeing your makes!

New kids on the block -Aquatint pens coming from Crafters Companion

Hi all. Just popping by to let you know that Crafters Companion will be releasing their new Aquatint pens on Wednesday at 6pm, on Hochanda.

If you already have any of the Sparkle pens, these are exactly like that, but without the sparkle. You can do all the same techniques and there are a lovely range of colours which match the original sparkle colours.

I have had a really good play with these, and here is one of my first makes using the pens teamed with one of the lovely Sheena A Little Bit Sketchy stamps which will also feature on the show.

For this card I have embossed the dandelion and leaves in black embossing powers and painted with my pens. For the light yellow I have applied directly to the card with the pen, and for the other colours I have applied to a non porous surface and picked up the paint from there with a damp brush, so that I can blend and shade.

For the backing paper I applied the ink directly to the leave stamp and then stamped it randomly ot create a pattern.

I hope you like this first card. Please visit Sheena's Inkoids over on Facebook to see tonnes more brilliant sneak peaks from my very talented teamies!

Thanks for visiting.
