Friends of the Gruffles

Hi everyone. I'm back today with one of my cards from my Christmas backlog!

There is a fairly new challenge blog out there called Gruffles and Friends which is another range of characters from the House Mouse range, and you can enter cards that are anything to do with ellen Jarecki's characters.

So the challenge at the moment is Anything Goes so I thought I would throw in this card which I made using the House Mouse Christmas CD that comes with a wonderful idea book too.

I have to confess that I bought this CD when it forst came out, but didn't get around to using it until this Christmas season, because I got a bit wrapped up in a number of very intricate Thomas Kinkade decoupage cards!

Anyway, here is my first card made using items from the Cd, including the lovely backing paper that you see.

I really love this little image as it is cute but not too cute and a lot of people like to feed the Garden birds in the winter (me included!) so, in this case, this was a perfect card for my In-Laws.

Well that's it from me for today.

I hope you like what you see and I look forward to having you visit again soon.

Bye for now.

Sports challenge at CLF

Well it's time for another challenge at Crafty Little Fairies, and this time the subject is Sport. Not necessarily the easiest of categories, but I searched trough my stamps and came across this lovely little SWALK image which I thought fitted the bill just perfectly. I picked some lovely backing papers from the SWALK 2 CD to go with it and coloured 'Grandpa' with my Spectrums.
Hope you like it!

Pink and Black Sugar Nellie Girl

Wow - it's been quite some time since I posted! I have to admit, I have had very little time for blogging or crafting lately, but sometimes it's good to take a step back for a while don't you think!

Of course, card making is my first love, crafty wise, especially stamping and colouring, but this year I really want to try out some new crafts - a bit more jewellery making, and I would also like to learn how to crochet!

Meanwhile - back to card making and a picture that didn't come out to well, as the girl looks a bit wishy washy. Unfortunately the card is already gone, so I can't take another photo but hopefully you get the idea :-)

The image is from Sugar Nellie and she is such a sweetie - for some reason I felt like she needed pink hair! The papers that you see are from Nitwits and I really like them because they are predominantly black with just a hint of colour - quite unusual I thought. Finally I used some of my favourite tiny buttons from Do Crafts to finish off.

So - on to a few challenges that I would like to enter:

Polkadoodles New Home

With the New Year just beginning, there is a lot of talk about new babies, new homes etc, so I thought I would post a New Home card today which I made from a range of papers and stamp that came from a previous Polkadoodles magazine.

Sadly, unless you already have the magazine, you won't be able to get these items as they are produced purely to go with the mag and once it's gone it's gone.
I really love the little house...so cute and I really think that whimsical homes are quite a trade mark for Polkadoodles as they have loads of lovely ones both in stamp and digital format.

The people I made this for were moving to a village, so I kept the colours on this card a little bit vintage, to match with their new surroundings.

As usual I have a few challenges to enter, so here goes:

Here Comes Christmas with Polkadoodles

Well it is anything but cold and  frosty where I live today.....we woke up to a complete downpour and we have had nothing but pouring rain and darkness al day so far.....not at all my vision of Christmas!

This card is much more like Christmas time to me, and it's made using a gorgeous digi image and background papers from my Polkadoodles Here Comes Christmas CD.
As you can see, I have used a couple of my favourite techniques here.....colouring with alcohol markers and a little it of decoupage for some lift.

The digi is quite detailed so it took a while to colour, but well worth it I think, and I have gone with a slightly different colour scheme than usual, to complement the lovely Christmas tree backing paper and the tartan one which I have used as a faux ribbon.

I hope you like my little offering for today, and wish you all a relaxing weekend.

Before I go.....some lovely challenges to enter:

Drink and be Merry with Bearly Mine

It's my final challenge of this Year at Bearly Mine so, although I am not a drinker myself, I thought it would be a good time to raise a toast!

For this card I have delved back in to the Steampunk sets from Bearly Mine and paired them with a GIANT wine bottle stamp from Stamp Addicts. This card is actually  8 x8, so that gives you some idea of the size of the wine bottle.

I wanted a very vintage effect for this card, so I think the the steampunk papers work really well for this and go very nicely with the muted tones that you get from the distress ink pads which I used to  stamp the bottle.

So, the next time you see me on a Bearly Mine challenge, I fully expect to be back in to the Spring Pastels again!

In te meantime, a great Christmas and New Year to you all and I look forward to seeing your crafty creations over on the Bearly Mine challenge site.

The final challenge at Crafty Little Fairies this year - Anything Goes

I can hardly believe it's time for the final challenge of 2013 at Crafty Little Fairies and this time, it is everyone's favourite - Anything Goes.

We started the year as Lili's Little Fairies, so in homage to that, I have decided to go back to a beautiful LOTV image for this challenge.

I'm also looking ahead to the New Year......as you can see, this is a Father's Day Card......well the challenge does say 'Anything!'
I have used an unusual colour combination for me....lovely earthy greens and browns, as I thought this would be a bit more manly, but I have to say I am really liking how this colour combination turned out and I happened to have just the right colours in my Promarker challenge to achieve it too.

So I hope you like my card for today and hope to see you over at Crafty Little Fairies for our final crafty fling on 2013!

Have a wonderful Christmas everyone!
