All creatures great and small.....

It's time for a new challenge over at Cute card Thursday, and this week the theme is Creatures, so I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to showcase this little guy from Crafters Companion........look at that little face!....how could anyone resist that?

So, I have used a variety of stash for my card this week. The stamp is from the Moon Beam Meadow range at Crafters Companion and I have coloured him with Spectrum Blendable pencils, paper stumps and blending solution.

The green butterfly paper is from the Scruffy Little Kitten CD, also from Crafters Companion...and I have to say this contains some of my favourite 'ditsy' papers!

Finally, the paper with the poppy seed is from an old Joanna Sheen CD. Sadly I don't think it is available anymore, but it seemed to fit so well that I just had to use it.

I hope you like my little card for today and that you will come over to Cute Card Thursday and join us this week. Looking forward to seeing all your creations!

Morgan Fitzsimmons Fairy Girl

Hello all. I hope you are having a lovely weekend.

I have been very busy preparing  for various launches etc these last few weeks so I haven't been able to get much 'personal' crafting done. Yesterday, was the first time for ages that I could just sit and play, and I spent a happy few hours re-aquainting myself with my Scan n Cut and setting up some basic matting templates.....something I have been meaning to do for ages!

Meanwhile, I thought I would post  a card I made quite a while ago, using the original Morgan Fitzsimmons CD. It is jam packed with loads of lovely images to colour in and this is one that I completed using my Spectrum Noir pens.

The image is preset in the panel shape that you see and is the perfect size for an A5 card.

I have added lots of lovely Tonic die cuts to embellish the card and I totally LOVE the soft and swirly backing paper too.

I hope you like my card for today. I am off now...ever hopeful of getting a bit more crafting time in!

By for now, and thanks for visiting.

House and Home

It's time for a new challenge over at Cute Card Thursday, and this week we have  challenge of 'House and Home'. I thought I would go for something a little different to the usual 'New Home cards', and also challenge myself by NOT using a stamp!!
This is what I came up with, suing some gorgeous Christmassy stuff from Polkadoodles, which I printed out multiple times so I could cut and decoupage.

I don't think this has to be specifically Christmas, but I couldn't help myself from adding a touch of glitter for that frosty feeling.

So - a very simple card today, which i hope you will like. Don't forget to visit Cute Card Thursday and show us your homely creations!

Thanks for visiting.

Kiddie Cuteness at Cute Card Thursday

Hi there. I'm back with another challenge for Cute Card Thursday and this week the theme is Kiddies and Babies.

This time I have used a lovely little girl from Rachelle Ann Millar and what a little cutie she is.

This was a really easy make as I used a card companion from the Crafters Companion Rachelle Ann Millar and layered and decoupaged to get a 3d effect.

Thanks very much for visiting today and I look forward to seeing you over at Cute Card Thursday.

Fab n Funky - Anything Goes, Sponsored by Kenny K

It's Wednesday again which means it's time for a new challenge over at Fab N Funky. This week it's a nice easy theme of Anything Goes and we are sponsored by Kenny K.

I decided to do something boyish for a change so I pulled this little chap out from my dig stash and coloured him in with my Spectrum Noir Alcohol markers.

I found the lovely, and just a little bit icy, papers in amongst my stash and the are from the Angelica and Friends boys pad which was made by Crafters Companion. Sadly you can't get this one any more but they turned out to be the perfect match for the colouring so of course I had to use them!

I have kept everything nice and simple as the main image is quite big, but I think this would work well for a young boy.

So - a very quick poster today, but I hope that you will visit us at Fab n Funky, and join in with the fun.

Thanks for stopping by.

Going Nordic.

Hi all,

Did you mange to catch the Nordic Christmas shows on Hochanda earlier this week? There were only two shows, but it was lovely to see these lovely images and embossing folders being showcased once again.

We were asked to take some fresh samples for the latest shows and here is one of mine, featuring the lovely, if slightly confused looking, reindeer and the ovally reindeer embossing folder too.

My background embossing was done on very basic, cheap white card...the folders are lovely and deep so you don't have to crack out your best card to use these. However, for the image it is a different matter of course, so I opted for Sheena stamping card as I wanted a smooth paper, but I was using my Sparkles pens which are water based, so I didn't want to get any 'bobbling' on the card.

To paint my reindeers, I applied the sparkles ink to a piece of acetate, to act as a palette and then picked it up with my clear sparkles pen. This means you can get a graduated finish, rather than a block of colour, and also you can mix the different colours too. So for my reindeer i mixed some orange and brown to get a slightly richer colour. The best part about this technique is, no matter how much you spread the colour, you still get all that lovely sparkle when it dries.

It's been a while since I played with m Sparkle pens and, I have to say I really enjoyed it.....I think there may be a few more sparkly Christmas cards coming your way!

Thanks for visiting today and have a great weekend.

Dressing Up for a Special Occassion.

Hi everyone. I have some very exciting news to share today as i have been invited to join the Cute Card Thursday design team!

First of all can I say a heartfelt thank you to the ladies on the team...you are such a lovely and friendly group an I am really looking forward to joining the 'cuteness' in future months.

Also, I should mention that Cute Card Thursday was the first challenge that I ever plucked up the courage to enter! I did it via email as I didn't have a blog back then, and I could only dream of being on DTs having samples on TV or being in magazines. Since then I have done all of these things......so from that little seed my crafty ambitions (and crafty spending) just grew and grew!

So - here is my first card for Cute Card Thursday which is all about - Dressing Up.

I thought this little Cowgirl would be perfect for the theme.......yeee aaaa!!!!

She is a Scruffy Little Kitten, and oh what a cutie she is! I have coloured her with my spectrum noir pens and mounted her on gingham.....just because it seemed right. Finally, a bit of good old garden string to add a bit of rustic embellishment.

I look forward to seeing you all over on Cute Card Thursday...can't wait to see all of your crafty makes!

See y'all!!!
