The end of a busy weekend!

Hi,

I've finally found time on Sunday night to sit down and do a very quick post. It's been a hectic weeknd as my son had his 9th birthday earlier in the week and this was his official birthday weekend, culminating in a Quasar party which is quite exhausting, considering that it involes a pack of hyper active and over excited 8/9 year olds! Makes me glad birthdays happen just once a year.

So now it's back to peace, tranquility and a good old cup of tea.

Here's a card that i have made using one of the Room With a View stamp sets released by Little Claire's earlier this month. Sorry I don't know the official name for this set, but you will be able to find it on the website as always.

Hae been busy making some cards for the March club release this week and also something for the first ever Little Claire's challenge, so I will look forward to showing those to you soon.

Thanks for looking .

LOTV and Stamp Something challenges

Here's my card for the above challenges.

The LOTV challenge was a sketch by the lovely Dawny P. I really like her sketches so I just had to make time to do this one, particularly as it gave me a chance to use one of the lovely new stamps that have just been released!

The Stamp Something challenge says to stamp something cute, so I think this image definitely fits that category.

Thanks for looking.

I am also entering this forthe Cute Card Thursday challenge which is a one, two, three recipe (I have opted for one paper, two stamps and three flowers), and finally the Teddy Stamper Anything Goes challenge.

Peartree Designs - Anything goes challenge

Pear Tree designs have an anything goes challnge this week, so I thought I would enter a card that I have made for my neice's birthday which is coming up later this week.

I have used one of the recently released stamps from Lili of the Valley for this card and the little cupcake 'stoppers' are stamped from one of the Crafters Comapnion Cute Companions Summer Stories sets (I can't remember what it's called but ut's the set that has the cake layer and pillars plus numbers - it's a really useful set to have!

The gorgeous backing paper also come from the Summer Stories CD rom, and I thought it complemented the stamp really well. Ihave coloured with Copics as usual, and I did something a little bit different this time as I distressed the backing paper with distress ink.

Hope you like this card and thanks for looking.

By the way, you can find this challenge at http://peartreedesigns.blogspot.com/

The one that nearly made it to fame.....

Hi there,

For those of you that didn't already know, a Little Claire's show went out on Create and Craft last week, and myself and my DT friends were all watching (or recording) so that we could see if any of our cards had made it on to the show.

Well on the day, some of my cards got a viewing, but this particular one didn't quite make it. The presenter picked it up with a pile of cards and was flicking away, but then she stopped on the card before mine. As this is an A5 side card, I could see it sticking out behind the previous card, but then she walked off with the cards in her hands, to talk about promarkers or something. For the next 5 minutes or so, she continued to do this, picking the cards up, and putting them down again, with me sitting there holding my breath and willing her to show the card!! How ridiculous I am!

Anyway, despite my frustrations, this card never quite made it to the front of the pile, so I thought I would give it the limelight today. Better luc kfor the next show I hope!!

Keeping it simple - that just about sums it up for me. I have spent a day at work today grappling with various spreadsheets and reports, and I can't even work out what day / month / year it is, let alone be trusted to figure out profits losses etc!!

So, I thought that, in line with my general frame of mind, I would show you something nice and simple today. It's a card made with the shortly to be released wedding window set from LittleClaire's. The set comes with a lovely stained glass window, a vintage car and some greetings, but I opted just to use the Church scene for this card and go for a classical wedding card look.

This was very simply done by stamping and embossing the image in gold andthen mounting on to some gold trellis paper and pearlescent paper that I happened to have in my stash. No colouring required!!

I quite like the simplicity of this card, and I hope you do to!

Thanks for looking. I'm going to out my feet up later and watch the Create and Craft show featuring Little Claires, which I recorded earlier today ( at least that was one thing that I managed to do without getting my days wrong!

Little Claire January Club Stamp

Hi all,
I'm a little bit behind on posting my cards at the moment, so have only just got round to posting a card using the Little Claire January club stamp.
There are a whole selection of 'window' stamps coming out in January and February and this is the first ofthe batch. As you can see, you have a window frame and also a stamp which fits perfectly behind the window, along with some cooridinating stamps which can be used to embellish or look equally good as stand alone stamps. If you pop on over to the Little Claire's website, you will see loads of cards made by my DT buddies, featuring this very same stamp set.
For this particular card, I have stamped out all the elements using memento ink and coloured them in with Copics. I made a very simple concertina card base which I covered with some very handy flagstone paper which I printed

from the Crafters Companion, Cute Companions Summer Stories CD. I think it works quite well even though it's supposed to be a patio!
Also, hot off the press is news that Little Claire's are goingto be starting up a challenge blog in the not too distant future, so watch this space for more details and I hope that you will join in all the fun.
I would also like to give a shout out to my DT buddy Mary who has very kindly given me a lovely blog award. Thank you very much Mary - I really appreciate it!
Well I think that's quite enough from me for now - I have a lovely pile of washing and ironing waiting for me!!
Thanks for looking.

Same stamp......different colours

Hi there.

Thanks very much for some lovely comments from my blogging friends regarding the 'brown' card that I showed on my last post. I really appreciate all of your kind words and encouragement.

Today, I thought I would post a card using the same stamp but with more colour and, as you can see, the look is quite different.
For this example I have usedmy favourite colouring medium of the moment - alcohol pens and I have punched out some little flowers from pearlescent paper to add as a little embellishment.
Thanks for looking. Next time , I will be showcasing some of the January release stamps from Little Claire's.

All browned off!

Here's a card that I made using one of the December release stamps from Little Claire's. Surprisingly this image is all one stamp, so it's quite sizeable and good as a focal point image. Plus of course, you could just use the top or bottom of the stamp as an individual image so you really have two stamps for the price of one.

For this particular card I stamped the image with a distress ink pad and used the same pad and a water brush to do dome of the colouring in .....easy peasy!!

I also made the background paper with some of my beloved Stamps by Judith stick stamps and the same distress ink pad again.

So all in all this was a very simple card to make, and it takes no time at all.

Hope you like it and thanks for looking.

PS - If you want to see more ideas featurnig this stamp, I believe it is going to be featured on Create and Craft on either 12th or 14th January.
